Morrison Hotel
We are honored to work with the Downtown Emergency Services Center (DESC) on a variety of their buildings, and helping them find durable and value-conscious solutions for design and maintenance of their buildings is part of how we aim to use our work to Empower Others.
The Morrison Hotel is a unique building originally constructed in 1908. The hotel was originally home to the Arctic Club, a social club for adventurers returning from the Klondike Gold Rush. Today, the Morrison Hotel serves an essential role as a homeless shelter in downtown Seattle and provides much-needed services to disabled homeless adults.
We first got involved with the Morrison Hotel as part of the team providing a capital needs assessment, identifying and prioritizing required repairs and renewals to help DESC plan out the future for their building. Roof replacement was an essential need, and we worked with DESC during the roof replacement process to help balance a durable solution with a reasonable construction cost.
