43 units of affordable housing open in Port Townsend

“The first affordable multifamily housing building to open in Port Townsend in over 40 years debuted this spring at 1351 Seventh St. in the Castle Hill neighborhood… The project is designed to meet ultra-high energy efficiency standards and is targeting net zero. Sustainable features include a large rooftop PV solar array, all LED lighting, triple-pane windows, low-flow shower heads, Energy Star refrigerators and range hoods, and other eco-friendly features.”
Lodge-themed apartment community, with 78 units, opens in Silverdale

“According to SWG, Rivulet is the first apartment community in the area to offer elevator access to each floor and introduce the open one-bedroom floorplan to the Silverdale market. Along with open one-bedroom units, the community has traditional one-bedroom and two-bedroom homes. The average unit size is 621 square feet. Rents range from $1,600 to $2,700.”
New Wenatchee City Hall is light-filled stop for civic services

Compass Health starts 2nd phase of Everett mental health campus

June Robinson, who was at Thursday’s groundbreaking ceremony, in a news release. “I applaud Compass Health for leading such an impactful initiative and delivering a solution to some of the most visible challenges facing our communities.”
Seattle House Starts its Rise Downtown

Tukwila fire station earns national design honor

“Tukwila Fire Station 51 has received national recognition at the 2023 FIERO Fire Station Design Awards… The latest honor adds to an impressive list of awards for Fire Station 51 that also includes a 2022 AIA Washington Civic Design Award, Honorable Mention and a 2023 Masonry Institute of Washington, Excellence in Masonry Award, Silver Award.”
Innovation Hall breaks new ground in partnerships and processes

“Innovation Hall is located on Cascadia College’s and the University of Washington Bothell’s co-located campus in Bothell. It is the first academic building in the nation shared by a community college and a university. It is also the first project procured under the university’s approach to assembling progressive design-build teams for major projects by selecting the builder first and the design team following.
The new, four-story, 80,000 square-foot building contains labs and classrooms for chemistry, biology, physics, computer science, and mechanical and electrical engineering as well as study areas and faculty offices. The building was substantially complete in September, and classes will start there in winter quarter.”
